Hi Kashyap, it's a good thing that you have decided to choose mechanical engineering, since it is a general field and keeps your options open for other branches later like aeronautical, automobile, etc. Usually students who are very sure about their branch or do not wish to take up maths opt for diploma after 10th. But the only drawback is that you might get limited options in terms of college selection while lateral entry in engineering 2nd year, also if you score less, you might have to start from 1st year engineering. If you are good in maths, it is advisable to go for 11th-12th, since it keeps your options open for admission in your desired college and eliminates the risk of wasting an year.
