I am BCom graduate and 41 years old and since 2 years and very much motivated to start career in the field of counseling because of commerce line , I am not eligible in a regular Institute to do MA . so I decided to do MA frm ignou and a PGD in guidance and counselling from a regular pvt college.It has a lot of practical knowledge and experience also.
But ignou said that I cannot do 2 PG courses together.Now I am in stress for building a career the knowledge given ignou through distance is very less and I can't wait for one or two yrs and then again take a second degree .
After two yrs my daughter will come in 12 th science so I won't be able to go out full time and other resons also.
Pls guide me soon as the admission dates are about to close
MA is a general degree and PGD in guidance and counselling is a specialised degree. Pursuing MA and then specialising is a longer, but standard careerpath. But, If you have a time constraint, and you're left to choose from one of the two options, then PGD in guidance and counselling could be a good option to start off early.
PGD in Guidance and Counseling is diploma course not degree that you can do along with MA psychology from IGNOU. Even IGNOU offer other certification/diploma courses along with their MA programs.
